Our Approach to Library Projects

Library Design Group

The FFA Library Design Group is a team of architectural specialists dedicated to library design. The group works closely with library staff, citizens, and Friends Of The Library to design spaces that reinforce the library's mission, allowing its specific programs to flourish. The team is headed up by Troy Ainsworth.

Library projects hold a special place for us because they so clearly support our mission to make a contribution to society. As truly democratic institutions available to all citizens, libraries play a vital role in the intellectual health of the community.

Project Approach

We feel strongly that a library should reflect the character and spirit of its community and citizens. The building itself should respond to its environment and help the library live out its mission statement. Our design approach, therefore, involves researching and identifying the essence of a place, then manifesting that place in the architecture.
